Because despite how angry I may get, i know the value of my computer, even if I'm angry at it. Same thing should be taught to the kid, one way I can think of doing so is making her play with a broken controller or go a few days without one.

Have her take a break for a little bit from whatever she was playing
Teach her to channel her frustrations in a more positive manner, like understanding what went wrong, why it made her upset, and ultimately getting better at the game.
Just because the going gets tough doesn't mean you break things nor yourself or others.
