    Sweden's 100 explosions this year

    https://www.bbc.com/news/world-europe-50339977

And, here we go, immigrants running from their own country to then cause chaos elsewhere.

I'm pretty sure I heard about 100 explosions in less than 24 hours; Airstrikes, missiles.. you name it.

And oh, sirens still didn't go off.

    Why are you like this?

Please do not fall into the outrage that right-wing politicans and media create to mobilize racist/xenophobic sentiments in the population.

It is important that we look at news like this with nuance and not just with the lens of "immigrants are ruining our country". Some points to consider:

    A) The article you linked explicitly states that these explosions are all gang-related, and that the suspects "have grown up in Sweden and they are from socio-economically weak groups, socio-economically weak areas, and many are perhaps second- or third-generation immigrants". These are Swedish citizens at these point. If you don't consider second or third gen immigrants Swedes, then at what point are they Swedish? It is clear that the common factor and the root cause of these explosions is the suspects' economic situation and not their immigration status. Which brings me to point B

    B) Most immigrants don't join gangs and blow things up. Sweden takes in hundreds of thousands of immigrants, most of which are Asylum seekers from areas like Iraq, Somalia, Iran, etc... One hundred explosions caused by poor gang-affiliated second-gen immigrants are not representative of the entire migrant population.
Some quick math: Sweden took in 132,602 immigrants in 2018. 100 explosions happened. Let's assume that every single explosion was done by a first generation immigrant(which is not true but i'll be charitable to your xenophobic premise). 100/132602 = 0.00075413643. That means that .08% of immigrants are gang-banging, bomb-exploding, terrorists. Does this seem like a reason to cast 100% of immigrants as people who "ran away from their country to ruin ours"?

Please stay informed and be charitable to other human beings. Stay safe.
    ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Now unrelated to the immigration topic.

    C) The explosions are awful and my condolences are with anyone affected by them. It is clear that the root cause of these explosions as per the article you linked is gang activity. Generally, gang activity is not strictly an immigration problem. You can have a country that takes in very little immigrants(i.e Jamaica, many South African countries, Italy pre-2007) and yet still have a serious organized crime problem. There are typically two things that are mostly responsible for this: 1) an unstable government.2)Wealth inequality or other socioeconomic factors. Now usually the way you deal with organized crime most effectively is by identifying the cause and addressing it. If the cause is unstable government, then you strengthen the government and increase police/response forces in areas most affected. If the problem is socioeconomic, then spending money on public infrastructure in affected areas(not necessarily gentrification). These are proven and effective ways we can deal with organized crime, vilifying and alienating entire ethnic groups is not one of them.

immigrants are not to blame at all, this is gang related. There will always be nefarious immigrants who move for the purpose of being in a gang or “terrorizing” but its a super super super super SUPER small margin of them that do so. These bombings according to the cops themselves are gang related, which could mean all sorts of shit and even if the gang is an immigrant gang its highly unfair to stigmatize all refugees and demonize them. the IRA in ireland orquestrated more bombings than a whole years worth of that in months and they were not refugees, the oklahoma bomber was not a refugee etc. Instead of driving divide and hating a group because forced assimilation is hard for them just try to help your fellow humans and once the root causes are addressed you will find that refugees bring immense knowledge labor and humanitarian work to the countries they seek asylum in, everything is new to them they are not used to western laws and culture so its unfair to blame them for all the problems and continue hating them cause that just leads to a negative sentiment of the hosts by the refugees leading to tension and to actual terrorism
