    i7-9700k vs Ryzen 7 3700x

Planning to upgrade my CPU due to recently upgrading my GPU to a RTX 2080 Super.

I'm looking at either the Intel i7-9700k and the Ryzen 7 3700x. I have a dual screen setup and would like a CPU to multitask. One window for high demanding game show the other with chrome Windows.

Both the CPU are same priced. Recommend me pls

The intel 9700k has better gaming performance but at a higher cost and a higher power draw. the benefit over the 3700x is very minimal though especially if you are going to be doing multiple tasks at once in which the intel chip will have a harder time with that. What would make a big difference in the purchase though is the memory and your current CPU cooler. Intel does not come with a CPU cooler so you will need to buy a 100w tdp cooler and ryzen is very dependant on ram speeds (3000MHz or higher is preferable). I'm assuming a new motherboard will need to be bought in both situations and intel motherboards are more expensive at this point in time.
I would go with the Ryzen 3700x taking into consideration power, cooling, and motherboard prices alone though as intel is more expensive in all those areas as well as costing more, to begin with.

Depending on what you did; AMD/Intel both need proper coolers for overclocking, stock cooler only works when not doing the overclocking or doing extremely minimal overclocking.

guess you will need to check out the new amd cpus as those generally run cooler than intel ones
7nm really does help in that regard

I would personally choose Intel rather than AMD. Never had a problem with Intel before, so not interested changing to AMD.

Tell me again when you're under an attack because Intel has a vulnerable CPU

I would go with Ryzen , the 3rd gen CPU are amazing! Make sure you pair them with fast RAM ( 3200Mhz is the bare minimum ).
