Standardization. 18 is the set, yet arbitrary, age one becomes an adult - or is it 21? There needs to be a set age for adulthood. At 18, I'm legally an adult and allowed to vote, I have to pay taxes, allowed to enter contracts, forced by draft, serve military, etc. - So why is that all allowed, but what I chose to put in my body as an adult disallowed? Either we're an adult at 18 or 21, or somewhere in between, so the age needs to be standardized throughout everything afforded/enforced to 'adults'.
Barely anyone who took up smoking did it at the legal age, so upping the age doesn't seem to be a real solution - but only time will tell.
I actually do not even vape or smoke cigarettes. Nice try though.
