US officially to raise age of sale of tobacco products to 21

Tobacco and smoking in general are absolutely horrible for you, and have no place in a society that also demonizes mostly harmless drugs like LSD and Mushrooms. 18 to 21 isn't that much of a difference if you really want to give yourself cancer, but at least stupid 16 year olds that want to look cool can't get hooked on nicotine after they asked the seniors to buy them some cigs.

Nicotine is not horrible for you. It does not cause cancer. What causes cancer is the thousands of chemicals in cigs. In-facts, studies show that a little bit of nicotine has positive health effects. Obviously, with the amount that is in cigs it's not healthy, but it's not the primarily cause of diseases that kill people. The tar build up in your lungs due to the smoke is what mainly kills people.

There is no proof that vaping will/can lead to lung disease. While vaping certified vape juice, there has not been a single case where someone has unequivocally known that vaping was the cause of their lung disease. Vaping is 95% safer than smoking, but obviously not 100% safe. Regardless, there is nothing that signifies that vaping has the potential to be cigarettes 2.0 and become a serious crisis.

High amounts of nicotine is by no means good and can result in such negative effects. However, small amounts, like 3MG, 6MG, and even 9MG is not horrible for you. It's not some seriously deadly toxin that will destroy your lungs like actual smoke/tar build up. Raising the age will not stop teenagers from obtaining it, being they are already obtaining it illegally.

Regardless, I don't mind the age being raised as it does not effect me as I'm 23.

At 18, I'm legally an adult and allowed to vote, I have to pay taxes, allowed to enter contracts, forced by draft, serve military, etc. - So why is that all allowed, but what I chose to put in my body as an adult disallowed? Either we're an adult at 18 or 21, or somewhere in between, so the age needs to be standardized throughout everything afforded/enforced to 'adults'.
Barely anyone who took up smoking did it at the legal age, so upping the age doesn't seem to be a real solution - but only time will tell.

Voting: 26th Amendment makes sure you can vote at age 18. This right was largely granted by the fact that at 18 people could be drafted for Vietnam but couldn't vote.
Contracts: There are certain contracts you can't enter depending on where you live. "Car rentals, for example, usually require the renter to be at least 21 years old." Age is only 1 factor in whether or not you can enter into a contract. What you said isn't wrong, it just doesn't paint the whole picture.
Taxes, Draft, Military: Well here I just presume the government doesn't care about age cause they want money and impressionable fresh out of high school students to send to the front line.

Honestly when it comes to maturity and age. I personally do think there's a big difference between age 18 and 21. Age 18 is fresh out of high school. Sure they're more mature than when they first entered high school. Age 21 is typically late college years. I think the time between 18-21 is generally a period of rapid maturity (might be using the wrong words to get my point across), or at least if you're a college student, as one transitions from a high school student to an independent adult.
I personally was more reckless when I was 18 so I guess that's why the government is trying to put this buffer in place. 18 year olds are just more likely to do something just because they have the option/choice to and I guess raising the age removes that option/choice. So yes, people are adults when they're 18, but I feel that actual adulting doesn't happen till you're like 21 (unless you were like poor as shit, lived in a shitty area, had to grow up fast, you know how it goes).

Even high nicotine brands like Newport and American Spirit. 6mg per ml ends up in vapes deliver 3-4 ml/session, and the session last longer than a normal cigarettes because when your cigarette goes out you usually don't light another. Vapes don't do that.
