Sounds useful. I still have my og electric toothbrush that I bought back in 2011.
Colgate's Plaqless Pro electric toothbrush is designed to detect biofilm buildup on the teeth, while the Oral-B iO apparently uses AI to provide teeth-brushing feedback.
LAS VEGAS—With connected devices invading the living room, kitchen, and bedroom, it was inevitable the bathroom would join the party. At CES
here, Oral-B and Colgate are launching smart toothbrushes intended to
help improve your teeth brushing.
Colgate's Plaqless Pro electric toothbrush is designed to detect biofilm
buildup on the teeth. Sensors embedded in the toothbrush handle create
"a comprehensive map of the user's mouth," and a ring lights up in blue
when buildup has been detected and turns white when it's been
eliminated.
The data collected by the toothbrush is visible through the aptly named
Colgate Connect app, which shows users whether they missed spots while
brushing and whether an area is "truly clean," as well as coaching tips
for better oral health.
(Oral-B iO)
Oral-B, meanwhile, is leaning into a nebulous definition of artificial intelligence with the Oral-B iO; it reportedly provides "real-time individual
tracking and coaching, thanks to artificial intelligence informed by
thousands of recorded brushing sessions."
What that means is a tad unclear, but what the Oral-B iO does have are new magnetic tips that
more efficiently transfer energy to the bristles than previous devices.
A pressure sensor also tells you when you're pressing too hard on your
teeth while brushing. A small face on the toothbrush's touch screen will
smile when you're applying the right amount of pressure and frown when
you're pressing too hard.
Much like Colgate, Oral-B also has an app that provides coaching and motivation throughout the process with
the aim to gamify brushing your teeth. There are apparently seven brush
modes for a "highly personalized experience," including daily clean,
whiten, and sensitive.
Colgate says its toothbrush is coming out sometime in 2020, while Oral-B's will
arrive in August; pricing was not announced. Small comfort can be
taken, however, in that these toothbrushes are not as shameless a
data-gathering exercise as that from some upcoming smart razors.

Sounds hella niche, I got a brain that can tell me if I missed a spot and a tongue to feel my teef too so I'm not sure that it's worth the extra cost that will without doubt be added to their normal brushes.

Excellent marketing but I think technique is the most important thing as well as consistency when brushing.
If I had that toothbrush (and friends) I would definetely show it off. I've been sticking to my classic Charcoal Oral-B toothbrush for about 3 weeks now.
Just use a toothbrush and you find !!!
