I am in Wuhan, and didn't get Wuhan till now so..

They seem to be doing their best to control it.
The city is already a ghost town, since the city is under a lock down. Nothing goes out of it. All public transport, restaurants, and markets are closed except for few.
Apart from that new hospital will be built solely for the those who got sick (in 10 days, as per their claims). And are constantly spraying disinfectants all over the city. From what I have heard, the number are increasing because they have increased surveillance and are quarantining the patients and those around them.

Also, so far the fatalities have only been of patients who are old or those have some other underlying conditions or weakened immune system. So you boys ain't got much to worry about for now...

Pneumonia is deadly to everyone... healthy or not. The fact that this virus spread so quickly in such a short period of time is troubling.

There is no vaccine out for Wuhan coronavirus. People can have it and not show symptoms, its gonna be a pandemic soon if it isn't already.

I don't think it will become a global threat. I honestly think that though this is a more serious illness compared to the common cold, it is not as bad as portrayed. I say this for the following reasons: 1) the R0 of coronavirus, basically the number of people one infected person is likely to infect, is predicted to be between 1.4-2.5 according to the World Health Organization. SARS has like a 2-5. Seasonal flu about 1.3. So I see it's infection spreading rate to be slightly more serious than the flu. It also sounded like it's basically spread just like the flu...infected people coughing on shit. 2) Based on Dave's most recent numbers, there's a mortality rate of about 2.15%. SARS had about a 9.6% mortality rate. 3) I think that after experiencing the SARS and MERS outbreaks, public officials are better prepared for possible epidemics as we can see through their precautionary actions of quarantine to slow down the spread of infection. 4) Most who die of coronavirus likely had already compromised/weak immune systems (think kids and elderly).

170+ now, I think people are overreacting in the sense it kills vulnerable people, much like how the flu can. Definitely more effective than a flu, but still the principle remains the same.
