@Dave84311 What happened to this being overrated/not serious? We've reached the average flu deaths despite a 6 week shut down. Half of the deaths are NYC alone.

Still isn't pandemic serious, it's more like save our immunocompromised folk.

Apparently people dying from other causes are being labelled as COVID deaths even if they show symptoms, let alone being tested.

If true, I wouldn't trust those numbers at all.

Yea this is also what I heard, I don't understand the reasoning behind this. Is it ignorance of COVID-19 as a whole or a plot to receive more aid based of tainted numbers?

Probably has nothing to do with politics.

Hospitals get paid to put people on ventilators, elective surgeries amongst other cash cows for hospitals are basically non-existent right now. I'm not saying what they're doing is right or wrong but they need some money coming from somewhere in order to keep up the costs and profits.

I think in Canada hospitals get paid $39k if a patient is put on a ventilator. Not quite sure about the numbers in the USA.

I remember hearing that number being drastically lower... I recall hearing it being somewhere along the lines of $14-$17k (don't quote me on this) but I wouldn't outright dismiss the politics part. I could definitely see it having something to do with NY and Cuomo
