I would like to point out that his is very highly detectable, as unlocking them through memory editing will trigger the 'anti cheat'. Also, the requirements met for certain skins will still have zero value on the server side as the client side.

For example: if u unlock the obsidian skin for a certain weapon, and haven't even reached the gold skin for it yet; the completionist tab will still be locked but you will have your skin.




tldr:It's unlockable, visible by other players ingame. Highly bannable if you unlock skins you can't even have the tab for.

This is true except you aren't unlocking anything as you stated, you're simply tricking the game in what camouflage it applies to your gun or what emblem is applied to your identity from the server side by converting one camo to another on our client's end. If I were to uninstall my game and reinstall it I would still have the camos applied, but not be able to choose it like you said. The server is thereby tricked into loading the wrong camo (actually should be no camo but loads one instead), which could still possibly be detectable, but the game in every other way assumes normalcy.
In my opinion this ins't new, MW2 hackers used hex editors, and it is detectable somehow. Back to the new MW, I've tested this out and it does work online, will report ban if banned.
