Looking for help with tampering with game files (pbo replacement??)

I need to replace some textures but the pbo tools suck ass and won't let me, i wanna bypass the dumb keys required by the mods to reskin the goddamn soldiers, i'm not even a cheater just wanna keep my soldiers' morale up with actually good gear

oh and i wanted to force a soundmod onto the game as the vanilla guns sound like paintball guns.
