How long I've been using Photoshop? I started using it 5 years ago. Was pretty noob. Someone helped me out with the basics. Then I started fucking around with projects. Watched a lot of Youtube videos (still do) with techniques and tips. I'm not a pro by any means but I consider myself quite okay - I know that I can get the things I want on my screen with the tools I know.

Same with After Effects but cut out the "someone" who helped me and double down on the YouTube videos haha.

Do you have a gif in mind that you want to use? If you look at my signature gif, you can see the dimensions that work (right click, inspect element, then look at the width and height). Idk how it is with bigger gifs.
