Police dealing with idiots - Covid Positive College Party

Im a recent grad and my university now has like 50 positive cases out of like 96k tests or so last time I checked. Came up to like a 0.05% positive rate and I think so far the general concensus is if you got an under 1% positive rate, you're good.

Mine has around 700 for 24k students.

And this is scandalous that our governments use this disease to take off peoples' rights/freedom. It's nothing more than a flu-like disease: if you're healthy, you'll be ok.
We shouldn't prevent ourselves to live, and destroy our economy for some unhealthy people. If some people need to be quarantined, those are unhealthy people, not the healthy students and the healthy working class.

People who are tested positive don't always have the symptoms, and the other way around as well (not positive, but has symptoms).
But I get what you mean. But, people partying while people are sick is just not smart in general. Doesn't matter how you look at it, healthy people can get a higher chance to become sick themselves when they are exposed to these parties.

I get it. People want to be free. They don't want to be restricted from fun, but, if you ask me, I want to still be alive to even get the chance to have fun. So not partying that much for x months? Okay. I'll do that.

I didn't say these guys were not sick and that it was a good idea to party.
I said I don't understand what's the point of partying while sick (unless making participants sick as well), and that they don't look sick at first glance. This is stupid to party when you've been tested positive. You should stay at home for 2 weeks before going out again.

I don't believe covid is as dangerous as the journalists described it though. It's nothing but a cough and some fever. To die of covid when you're young and healthy is very unlikely to happen. It's not ebola, some people don't even have symptoms. Let's dedramatize...

The flu kills 650 000 people in the world each year (we never hear about it!), and we don't close businesses, prevent people from hanging out and going on vacations for the flu. Why would we do this for a virus that shows no symptoms at least, flu-like symptoms (and potentially death, as the flu) at worst?

And realize that this virus might never disappear. So what? We will lose our freedom forever?
