Been using my surface book for the last couple years and want something different. Been looking at XPS 15 (2020 variant) looks clean. Not a fan of macbooks so please dont recommend that. Lemme know!

If you want a power machine on a budget, get a sub 1K Lenovo (great price performance). I own an Asus Strix (1200), last year's model (great for gaming, editing, school/work). XPS 15 also a great option, def. lighter than the other laptops. If you can specify which things you prefer, we can recommend more specific brands and models (RAM capacity, CPU/GPU, etc).

The XPS 15 is a nice laptop, depending on what you want to do with your new laptop, lets say gaming, the MSI GS66 is a nice choice, thin-ish, great selection of graphics cards and a 300Hz display are all great features.

For just day to day look into the HP Spectre, has a nice OLED display, only downside is that it's small and well its a folding laptop.

Lenovo Legion y740 - Premium look, performance and cooling. Screen is 144hz, 500 nits, Dolby vision and 99srgb. Sweet stuff
Legion 5 - Less premium but has really good performance. Has ryzen and intel options
XPS 15 - Premium, but lacks gaming power

definitely streaming a lot of netflix and hulu so I want a beautiful display, some light work on there and maybe some light gaming (warzone/overwatch)

dont want anything that looks too over the top (game-y) I prefer the clean look of the laptop i have now the Surface Book, but its too weak and slow.

Legion y740 it is then. Display has G-sync, HDR/Dolby Vision, 500 nits, and has beautiful speakers with Dolby Atmos.
It has a 2060, but maybe there is a 1660Ti variant of it, not sure.
