Exodus is pretty cool and easy to use.

Electrum / Blockchain / Ledge wallet or Binance is a good starter.

Electrum is good since it have lots of options and don't require to host GBs of transactions as Blockchain wallet do.

    Hi, I don't fully understand.

Using a private key, I can make the public key (im assuming I should make a new one whenever I want to receive a new payment, this is the address people send bitcoin to). Then using the bitcoin miners, the payment is processed as soon as the person sends the money (and every miner in the world then holds that transaction information.

Then when I want to send money I use the private key. So the only thing an external company would do for me is get it processed? So how do they process it? I don't see the need for an external company?

Is there something that explains this (how to do it without any external company)? The internet is filled with so many sellouts and all that bs surrounding bitcoin, that I can't actually fish out the information.

    Cool
If you are serious with crypto, NEVER use BlockChain after all the leaks and security issues they've had. I wouldn't trust them with keeping bag of poop even.

If you're actually serious about this all, buy a cheap Ledger Nano S which you can probably even buy used like I did (which is generally quite safe and doesn't matter if you reset the device and it is genuine). Afterwards you can buy a more advanced, better cold wallet like the SecuX V20 (which I'll buy soon as well).

Cold wallets are the way to go if you're serious about crypto, hot wallets are stupid if you carry more than about 300$ in crypto values.
