What fun is cheating / exploiting a multiplayer video game?

reverse engineering, understanding how other peoples programs were developed, was what interested me. Designing and taking advantage of flaws within their code, is fun to learn about. But actual hacking, not overly fun.

Pretty much this, however, I'm personally no longer interested in cheating as a whole.

It used to be fun because of people's reaction, but over time it started to be boring.

I think my 13-14 year old self started hacking because I got sick of other people hacking so I would "counter cheat", did occasionally go full retard in public lobbies, on alt accounts, but not very often
Lasted for about 2-3 years, ended up staying here for the community as i made a lot of great friends

I remember people doing it in eagle eye to glitch the bomb.

I remember some people would glitch a bomb inside the floor or a box or something but you could still diffuse if you were close enough. Other times, they'd glitch in and drop the bomb to the bottom of the map where it can't be diffused (unless you somehow fall through the floor without getting a client error/dying I guess).

Edit: Now that reminds me. I remember there was a hack where you can instant defuse a planted bomb from anywhere in the map and since it doesn't say who diffuses the bomb, no one would know who it was (unless you're the last person left). Was so funny to hear "Bomb has been planted" and not even a full second later "bomb has been diffused" and everyone in the lobby would be like WTF?!?!.

It's not fun! But people do it anyways, and somehow get satisfaction out of annoying others. Maybe that's the reason they do it.
Also this is a cheats forum, it's a bit weird talking about this.

Speaking of lag switch, I remember back in...I guess it would be like 2010-2012, I would have to keep a constant ping test running in cmd so that I can figure out when my internet ping was playable (sub 300) since I had some DSL trash. But sometimes in games, my ping would spike from like 100 something to like 1k - 3k ping (literally had 5 digit ping numbers in some cases) and I thought I disconnected since everyone is running in place. But then once my internet stabilizes again, everyone would teleport. Let's just say having my internet be this terrible was good against campers in MM. People would think I was hacking but I'm like nah my internet is ACTUALLY that bad.

Theres a cheat now that can literally crash a room seriously, it happens a lot

Using Cheats could have several reasons for me, others are cheating so you counter-cheat, playtesting your own creations or you are too bad in the game and need that little boost < which is probably what you would describe as gay.
One Example. Considering not all high tiers in mc are clean, I don't feel bad for using an auto clicker that is capped at 7-13CPS, while legits, if they wanted, could hit 10+ easily. It probably reaches an end though when you use the whole pack: aim assist, bridge assist, reach, wtap, etc.
Another Example: Using our cheat for CS: GO that comes with a legit anti aim that enables only for other cheaters that got detected by our system or you manually add to the blacklist. Maybe toggling some sort of legit ESP, or visible only chams (because visibility is a problem in CS). On Leagues like FaceIt, I tend to avoid using the cheat at all, even though it is made for especially such stuff. I just feel like I wouldn't be happy if I cheated my way all up to Level 10 or Pros-only aka. the hidden Level 11.

Coding bots and or cheats are something different though. You learn stuff doing so. Obviously not if you constantly stay at the same game - the learning curve starts to rise pretty slow or not at all. Whenever I finished a project for a game, I used that project for a while and moved on. Or if there was a reason to keep using that software, say money, I kept doing stuff for that game while doing other things. I don't feel bad for making it possible for people to destroy whole economies of games and or taking the fun of the others. I just really don't care enough about the side effects that get caused by the users as all that keeps me developing something is the money. It's not like Game Devs would pay you to stop doing so. Where I obviously would take that option instead.
