Context: There is a private server called Combat Arms: Reborn created by a person named Radeon and wants to restore Combat Arms to the state of 2009, where you had the old HUD, sounds, UI, etc. There is a Di/scord, but I'm not sure if I'm allowed to post invite links. You can search for it online on LithArchive.
By the way, it is still in development, but the videos on it look really interesting.
Is anyone else interested in Combat Arms: Reborn? I remember playing a lot of old Combat Arms and enjoying the people and gameplay. I wonder if we will play it, then get bored of it or we will enjoy Combat Arms like when we were younger. Hopefully, this community has not fully died out. Let me know what you guys think!

Valofe shut it down within a week, hopefully it comes back in the future.
Yeh, I remember when it came out and Valofe acted fast. I do know that there is a server on ******* that is sharing the files, but whether there are people still playing is another question. Anyway, I do know that @supercarz1991 was part of the team and it was cool that he was able to make an almost complete old-school CA.
Sorry for the late response, I usually check posts when I get quoted.
I know its against the rules to bump super old threads, but I haven't been on here in quite some time. Figured I'd still respond to this with everything we made public at the time this all went down
CA:R was based on NOLF 2 Build 69 beta source code. Game Client used was July 2008 to create CA:R. Radeon started the project probably 6 years ago (at this point), came to me some time ago when I opened my site, LithArchive (which I had permission to talk about here), and we started a di/sc/ord for the game. We quickly got over 1000 members when the beta went live for CA:R, but we already knew Valofe was watching. The week prior to release, Valofe had someone MANUALLY take down over 2200 download links on M/E/G/A of all things Lithtech. 95% of what they took down was 100% illegal for them to report the link of as it was source code to DLL hack menus from years ago, 3rd party mod tools like LTB2LTA or DTX Convert, the Lithtech Engine ISO, demo versions of Contract Jack, mods for NOLF and CJ and my old TPS/CAPS downloads... and so much more. By the end of the 2nd week of CA:R being publicly played, Valofe had the entire di/s/co/rd shut down, and we took the site offline with a warning about how to "not poke the bear."
Will it come back? I'm not sure. That's Radeon's call. I haven't seen him online in a long time on di/sc/ord, but I'm sure it was hard after all that time to have it ripped out away from him the way Valofe did. We showed Valofe what a community of true CA players wanted, they didn't like it and they pulled the plug.
The only part of the project Valofe had a leg to stand on was the name, Combat Arms, and the 3d models/maps/textures. The entire game was legally reverse engineered from a free to download variant of the game. We did not use any leaked source code to create CA:R, as tempting as it would have been. We also know the developers of the Doobic Studios version of Combat Arms (I can't remember the name off the top of my head) have also had issues with Valofe, even though they have no legal right to go after that game as it was NEVER theres

Hey, thanks for responding. Sorry for not seeing this. I did not see this because I only get notifications if I am quoted. Anyway, it was cool while it lasted. It was unfortunate that they took down the dis.cords. I hope everything is fine for you btw.
We should find VALOFE and snap their cock in half..... ruined such a good proj

I'm glad I had time to hop on for a few games when it opened up. It was actually really fun getting to play it out again and a job really well done. It's unfortunate they came after it so quickly. If it ever comes back, please post an update @supercarz1991![]()

Honestly, the way we released it, its entirely still playable because it just uses the NOLF2 dedicated server to host a server to play with friends. Just port forward 27888

he should release the source code. maybe even torrent it, so something can still happen
Not at all. Its not a private server. If it were a private server, I'd agree, but it was a full game recode from the ground up on the nolf2 source code and was reverse engineered legally. Its just Valofe doesn't seem to understand proper dmca laws and we can't afford to fight them.
Source code at the level Radeon did it, does not deserve to be released for free to the masses. If it was some botched together private server using the original game client instead, then i'd agree.
