We manually analyzed each publicly accessible forum on
this list, and for each that was still online and had at least
100 threads in scam-related sections, we (1) exhaustively
crawled its public content and (2) recursively applied the
same process to discover other candidate forum URLs. We
ultimately identified and crawled four forums suitable for our
analysis: ********** (NULLED), ****************.net (*****),
Sinister**** (SIN), and MPGH.net (MPGH).

The most interesting thing was looking at these researchers' background, the main guy's a CS PhD, I don't know why I thought it'd be cybersecurity or something. The second guy is though, for PayPal which is quite interesting, oh and he owns his own forum which is rather large lol. It's always nice seeing what these guys are up to.

Even more interesting at their university Cybersecurity is under CS. At the university I went to, Cybersecurity was separate from the CS degree. That's neat and it makes sense.

At that time, we didn't have any restrictions or remove content related to the paper.

I read some of its content and it is indeed interesting especially for someone who had an idea what it is all about. But for people who have no background or any idea about it, I think they might find it confusing or less interesting.

We had refunding services allowed at the time still. Refunding and Social Engineering services were still active and common. The only thing we removed really early on was Amazon refunding. It makes sense to include MPGH, being one of the top sites listed on the notorious markets list year after year. The rest of the site might have seen big activity drops but the marketplace was still thriving at the time.
