    Are Udemy courses worth it?

    Hi guys, I was looking to get a certification in web development etc. is it worth buying Udemy courses and getting their certificates or no?

    The nanodegrees are not that useful overall. What's more important is what you can learn and actually apply/create from there. Just doing the course and slapping on the certificate won't help that much. Also, you'll likely still have to do a lot of self learning beyond the course to really get a good grasp.

    But if you want something structured to get started, sure you can go for it. In CS though you can find good resources online for free for almost anything.

    I personally would not recommend you to buy those since udemy has a lot of leaks already. I have tried taking some courses (which are free), most of which are so beginner-friendly (in my case), it would be better if you can just search for ebooks or watch youtube lessons. But if you do not mind spending money and would prefer to save time searching, then you can go ahead as long as you will finish it.

    Knowledge is still knowledge after all, and you can add those certificates on your resume too.
