i would blame the staff but if i write a full fledged rant, Flengo would come up and say "what have you contributed?"

tldr: staff is not willing to accept their shortcomings

All the sudden? Brother, we have close joining dates. Public hacks were slowly decreasing in uploads, and the marketplace was increasing rapidly. Marketplace was thriving for a few years after we joined, but then legal threats got serious. Amazon specifically contacted MPGH about the refund issue, and Dave made Amazon threads blacklisted, which were then deleted by MPGH staff. This even included my service, where I paid users to review Amazon products for me. Not long after, illegal services such as refunding and social engineering were banned as well. This greatly impacted the marketplace and made it more legal. But it also killed the growing activity for black-hat services in the marketplace.

As for the activity in General, registrations outside the marketplace were already slowing down due to paid private hacks becoming more popular than the free hacks MPGH was founded upon. Before private hacks became the norm, MPGH registrations were already decreasing, and fewer people were chatting in General. Those that were chatting in General were mainly chatters from previous years.

The thing about the frequent posters here in General is that we grow up. Since General has always mostly been the of-coming age chatter regarding game exploits, trolls, and community input since 2005, it's understandable most have outgrown it and just come online to check in—if they don't abandon it.

Though it kind of feels sudden, it's mostly about where this forum is aiming to be in a time where that future will be very niche. Unless big changes are in motion, I'm afraid this will remain niche. The funny thing is, if there are no changes, I am content with it being niche and moderating until it is dead. I love MPGH, I've wanted a lot for it. But it's way out of my hands. The admins have lives way greater than being administrators on an online forum, so I cannot fault them for outgrowing this. I'm just truly grateful Dave still has this site up.

TLDR: It's nothing like 2014, but things change and people grow. I don't cheat anymore, but I still appreciate the interactions I have had here.

Some staff decisions are certainly a factor, outside contact changes and the (unavoidable) removal of certain marketplace services are the big ones.

One thing I do want to point out is that a rant is not the only way to state your frustrations. It's fine to give your opinion but, being rude or disrespectful is not appreciated, you just need to remember we are people too. Just to be clear, I am not saying whether you have or haven't done this, truthfully I don't know, I only want to make the point that you can be constructive without being insulting.

Contributions are always welcome, but very few actually do. Other than that, when people actually have some feedback or ideas we take them into consideration.

If you rant though I'll probably give you a half-assed reply. Also, a lot of the decisions are out of my hands (i.e. IM).

    Perfect response.

Hacking / cheating isn't what it used to be due to paid cheats on the market, most if not all free cheats have pretty much disappeared, and as someone who used to cheat, I do not find it fun anymore, mostly because I'm closing up on mid-30's with each year passing by. This is one of the reasons why I mainly deinstalled Apex Legends was because of it, tried like an hour and got so fucking annoyed that EA/Respawn hasn't done a proper fucking job, even more so after the whole tournament hack / exploit incident

i do believe this site can be revamped, to what? and how? that is the real question because there isn't really much of an input either for the higher ups to make a decision.

Even though you're a GM, I think this was the most introspective post from an "outsider" that basically summarizes the situation.

    ----

To be honest, none of the admins have full time to dedicate to MPGH. If MPGH was pulling in $5k/mo, I'd probably relocate that money towards hiring 2 Ukranian engineers to build the next version of MPGH, the one I envision, something we can transition to. Build it publicly, let people start seeing the results and give input on what they want to see. Dave and I were always against monetizing MPGH (outside of anything "premium"), even when it has made people a lot money since most of the community are gamers and teenagers. It's always been a charity project from my eyes, MPGH wouldn't pay me what a private company would for even 1/10th of my time and far less hours of work. We, like most people, have bills to pay and things to do that take priority. I'd love to revive MPGH and rebuild the site into a community that addresses the world in the 2020s and even the 2030s, but we aren't kids working out of our mum's basement with ample time and no responsibilities. This can't be fixed with just adding a new section or feature on MPGH.

    I see three possible solutions:
    - Paywall the fuck out of MPGH and charge money. Kill what the site was founded on and alienate the user base.
    - Anonymous benefactor who made tens of millions and loves MPGH decides to fund its transition.
    - Dave/I secure the bag and use our own money to fund a transition. < This seems most likely

All these could fund MPGH. Maybe it doesn't cost $50k to modernize MPGH. I hope it doesn't. I don't know. Engineers are expensive. Good ones at least that protect your data. This site has been running for over 2 decades. The internet has fundamentally changed. We have to change with it to revive it. "Just a forum" doesn't cut it anymore. I think it's just a matter of time.

    Tired
    Phase 1

MPGH (Multiplayer Game Hacking) was first introduced to me in school when I was playing Crossfire and a shit ton of hackers were using hacks off this site and being the Egyptian I was, I was definitely intrigued. A lot of hacks were being released on an extremely active basis for this and many other games.

    Phase 2

Marketplace was introduced where services and such could be dealt with and that's when it was popular and got the most traction especially after the hacks were starting to die slowly. Everything from selling account, the only website with the most vouched refunders in the market and the best Social Engineering marketplace to exist. [I still got my Pixel 3 XL phone that I got as a vouch].

    Phase 3

MPGH received a cease and desist regarding the amazon thing and then we all woke up one with all the threads getting deleted and then slowly other services started decaying away. Everything that was illegal and had Amazon its title was immediately removed and that along counted for HUGE traffic to our website. This was the beginning of the downfall where the ads started running on the top banner to cover it up and due to a huge traffic going solely to the marketplace without some maybe stumble upon other subforums, which brought the uses of the donations/prem sellers/members income to an all time low since the biggest most profitable service wouldn't be sold anymore.

    Final Phase

General was the bro's hangout. A mini reddit might I say. What was left after the marketplace obliteration was porn account and whatnot and then the use of IM which wasn't as functional as it is now which caused a lot the deals to fall short. Hacks were barely released and the BTC exchange forum would have fewer and fewer posts by the year until the day the servers went down.
@arunforce used all his shares from MPGH to fund those Jewish underground tunnels and @Dave84311 had to buy a lot of insulin as he was 120 LBs away from creating a human blackhole.

Honest to god, had MPGH been funded from scratch by all those hacks and what not, I can guarantee it would've developed to something I couldn't imagine and not to get on both of their dicks too hard, Arun and Dave are super smart and there's this one incident when I was with Dave and another scammer in a call and bro just hacked him while we're talking he made him shit his pants. However, it they chose to monetize the biggest gaming website, other websites would buy the hacks and then use them as their own so why even do so? The donator tags cost around 25$ of a one time fee and the premium seller was 100$ and definitely helped with their sales.

Also, not to throw all the blame on the amazon strike, the market itself has gone more cautious and changed a lot of regulations which resulted in these services no longer having the same continuity as before.

Bust jokes, running a site of this caliber and maintaining it despite the major password leak that happened before and handling the whole situation by introducing 2STA is something I must commend for the admins.

    - - - Updated - - -

MPGH was so peaceful before I joined and till this day I remember I was fascinated by the staff pictures thread and the art competitions for the vfx tag all before reddit got that popular which was kind of a miniscale on MPGH.

But to conclude this, MPGH's traffic was driven cus of hacks and services which both got nerfed more than black blind downy.

I find this to be such a depressing response. I used to spend hours on this forum looking up source code and different ways to do things in combat arms. But you hit the nail on the head. I have grown to old and no longer have time to put into game hacking or an online forum. I just check in and remember the good times.
