What MW2 Private servers are out there Except alter IWNET?

Sorry, this is maybe a noob question, but maybe we simpoly have to change the server ip.
Then a few trusted member (like me ) downloads the NO-IP Client and host a server. Why do we need to change the steam_api?

Please google No-IP. Some time ago AlterIWnet also used a no-ip server. Why do u want to make it so difficult?
I mean the server can be 24/7 if you make a static IP .

Oh you mean that. Isn't it costy???
And I like things complicated, its more fun to do (And I am a bit of a n00b)

Just an idea, but what about having at least 2 servers? US and EU, seeing as anyone from the US will lag on EU and anyone from EU will lag on the US. And if I'm not mistaken MPGH doesn't use just 1 server (something about backups for redundancy or something)...

Talking about servers I might have one or two that could spare some horsepower for another game server, what are the reqs?

It wont matter when enough people are on the server.
The game automatically places people on the server with the best ping.

*If* this happens I really only have one concern, Hackers... and no I don't mean an anti-cheat server or w/e. The word may spread that hacks are allowed on these servers... People from alterIWnet go to said server(Less people to play with), play around with hacks... Then suddenly get addicted to them... Server goes down or they get bored and all move to AlterIWnet, Thus creating even more hackers there.

So its more of a Good...Great...This is the life... uhmm...

I never played or used AlterIW servers (got the game legit) so I don't know how this works. So you have an "original host" and then the server moves around to the person with the best hosting position or what?

Its the same as the Steam version (except for the verification, if aIW block someone I think they block their IP from their server, not block there username).

Yes there is. This thread was started because someone was banned from alterIWnet. And I think if this did happen, and there is temp bans, then it would really only be for aimbotting. Aimbotting isn't even fun, A bot is playing for you -.-

After getting banned twice, I think you will quit that server or hacking.

TBH I kinda enjoy playing legit, I used to hack for results and stats in certain games that you just couldn't compete without hacks (WR clan wars required at least a hacker or two per squad or you would NEVER win). But games like MW2 with little or no competition can be enjoyed without hacks too ^^

+ it would be fun to see how good you guys are without hacks, hehe
