Again, A Frontpage (not necessarily the one we have {I think it could be better}) is a good idea for new members, it has a certain appeal, and the more appeal you add, the more likely it is to draw in new members.

As for the members who say no need for it, You don't go there anyway....

The only thing that needs to be considered is an announcement feed. Perhaps a portal which just contains solely announcements and a button linking straight to forums.

Announcments can be easily acquired from the external data provider so the only thing that's really gonna go away if the front page is removed is the recent threads.

i think front page is boss, but considering we dont have regular announcements anymore, its pretty much useless

also it cuts out alot of un needed page requests, thus making mpgh more effenient
