how to catch a rat?

ok so i have a friggin rat in ma bed room and i searched the whole room for it but i couldn't find it did a little experiment to make sure its in there put a Lil swiss cheese and he ate it after 45 mins , of course i got all windows and doors closed on it and the trap been there for 22 hours so far and still nothing , u got a way to catch this Lil beast? i'm not afraid of rats but of-course i wont sleep in a room with one in it

poor mouse. just left the gas into your room. it will die 100%/yea

i thought of that using a butane gas can , or smoke it out but that will take more time and has much more danger than just leaving it to die on its own xD
