Forcing resolutions

Is there any way to force a resolution? CF is acting gay and saying my screen doesn't support the res (it may not be in the EDID, but it definitely supports it).

I kinda never really got into CF so if this is a nooby question don't go all flamezor on me /

Force a resolution.... like say you want to make it 1280x720???

It didn't work for me when I tried to force it into a resolution...

I put it 1024x768 and i had to reinstall CF because it kept crashing while starting cf. Good luck with yours..

Goto your cf settings and change the resolution if thats what your talking about.

I try, it's saying my screen doesn't support it (which is bs - as said, it might not be in the edid but it certainly does). Can anyone here actually help?

whats your current computer desktop dimensions?
if its too large then shrink it down.
Start Menu->Control Panel->Appearance and Themes->Display->Settings Tab
and lower your dimensions
sorry this method is for WinXP dont know the location if you use anything other than this OS

im not sure how to on other OS's but im positive with win7 there is no way

Are you 100% positive? I'm pretty sure some of my mates did...

1] Anything from 1x1 to 10960x1080 (not a typo - can go wider if you need me to).

it IS possible? can you let me know how? im having the same problem, i dont really like the big ass black sections either side of the screen when im in game.
