Very creative to a point where I had to re-read it
To be more specific, you mean increase the speed of animation of the returning position along with RoF to make it look like tap firing?
Well, if you think about what is included in model files, there are actual models, animations, and data about the gun. We have not been successful in modding recoil because we have been looking for some piece of data relevant to in-game recoil. However, (I have no proof, this is just a theory) the animations may include spread/recoil. So if we can speed up animations while keeping fire rate the same, we may be able to have the effect of tapping a gun, where the spread diminishes to optimal accuracy before each shot. What I mean is that by making any animations linked to the recoil of the gun take place more quickly, the recoil may occur and come back to normal position more quickly, so we can lower the overall recoil of the gun.
Please don't flame and say that it is ONLY engine based. This is just a theory.

Hm
IDK, I dont hex mod
0.o
Must be elite section or comes with a loader
very logical...seems to me like either youll make no recoil possible or go the opposite direction and make it worse but that'll be good to just for a nice experiment
I think the animation matches the server sided recoil, so.. you could make the gun go up and down quickly, but you'd still have a slow moving crosshair?

wut... The animation doesn't have to do with anything... its just the keys, like FIRE_KEY. FIRE_KEY tells the client when to actually shoot a projectile, the animation is just the looks so it doesn't look dull.
its here no? "ATTRIBUTES.rez"
ANGEL BEATS
GOD MODE
Sorry sir.

Yes, it is in Attributes, but then again so is a lot of crap.
Your idea is actually very creative, but Recoil is independent of Animation, as Extravagant said. Some things in Attributes match up to other things outside of them, so if we looked hard enough, we could probably find it eventually.
wouldnt that be awesome if it worked? would be amazing to see how far modding can go
