Escape the Inevitable.

As you open your eyes, you're surrounded by dark,
A journey your about to embark.
You grab what's nearest to you,
You sneak carefully to the door, which you go through.

A dark corridor, in which you find yourself in,
A place in which you have been.
You make your way to the light at the end,
But your journey has yet to begin.

As you approach the light, you are alarmed,
By the sound, your ears are charmed.
You break through the light,
But there is not a hero in sight.

With thoughts, your mind fills,
Deep down all these thoughts drill.
You easily begin to panic,
Once again, you become the manic.

You search for an answer, as what to do,
Finally, you decide to bid this place adieu.
Your feet, are faster then your mind,
Little do you know, your running blind.

As you run, you make great time,
The more you run, the more your heart race climbs.
At this rate, you'll never get away,
As you run, you pray.

You run, until you can run no more,
Once again, a place you've seen before.
You try to catch your breath, but can't.
You beg for air, as you pant.

There's no turning back now,
You'll run as much as your body will allow.
You'll find out what your running from,
You've ran until you've become numb.

You know this will never end,
These things, you'll never mend.
The things, you've gone through,
The thing you're running from, is you.

Very 'self', substantial and with essence. GJ toxin. Remember it doesnt always have to rhyme, rhyme schemes are just bondage to our words. nonetheless, great work, good length keep it up! /yea

I guess I just use that to cover up for the fact that I fail at free verse. /
