Launch commands without console

Just figured this out and thought you guys might want to know it



1. Open your config_mp (C:\Program Files\Steam\steamapps\common\call of duty modern warfare 2\players\config_mp.cfg)

2. Add a line with this form:
[php]BIND <key> "<dvar>"[/php]
Examples:
[php]
bind , "map_restart"
bind . "fast_restart"
bind L "say \"^1INTERVENTION ONLY\""
bind I "say \"^1SPAWN SNIPING = KICK\""
bind O "timescale 0.2"
bind P "timescale 1"[/php]

3. Save the file and open MW2

(You will still have to be host)

Only client vars will work if you are not the host such as
[php]bind v "r_znear 100"[/php]


More examples:

bind KP_HOME "map mp_nightshift"
bind KP_UPARROW "map mp_subbase"
bind KP_PGUP "map mp_terminal"
bind KP_LEFTARROW "map mp_quarry"
bind KP_5 "map mp_rust"

bind KP_DOWNARROW "map mp_highrise"

(This binds every key from 0 to 9 + the , button on your keypad to switch maps)

Hmmm, I tried those before but thought they didn't work. AlterIWnet just seems to have this blocked.

never thought to bind console commands .... thanx for the share ... anyone figure out how to print an output ? let say u bind a "status" command ive seen console outputs printed on cod4 but im not sure if theres a way to ...

mabe even a console command for a hintmessage would be usefull , again ive seen admins writing threw the hintmessage on cod4 ... not sure if theres a command that can do it tho ... or if we need to ad the command to a mod and then do it

This is awesome man. I just gave it a shot on the Steam version and it worked great. It's going to come in really handy.

tried that command yesterday... when i pressed enter it sayd "Patched." in the killfeed xDD

it end games without being host yes, but some great modders like nukem and etc patched it, so it doesnt work on good non-buggy mods

NO IT IS NOT BANNABLE

But it won't work without a way around the client checks - like liberation does.
Otherwise it will just clear the file.
