What processor should I get?

There are no Microcenters in Utah so I guess I will just them from newegg if I can. No tax since its online and only $18 more for all of that plus an extra 2 GB of corsair DDR3 RAM.

When working with ram more or less 4 things are important:

• size: expressed in GB (more = better)
• frequency: expressed in MHz (more = better)
• timings: usually expressed as CL_ (smaller = better)
• voltage (for the new intels it has to be 1.65V or less)

For decent high-end performace I would get at least 1600MHz CL7 ram.

What processor do you have right now? i3 to i7 880 is 1156, the i7-900s are 1336. If you got a different processor socket then what I mentioned, you're going to need a new motherboard.

It's pretty much the sam thing, imo that is the best I would buy if you're going for a $350 cpu.

Edit: the one I gave seems to be a tad bit better + it's silent (no fans).
