This tutorial is for Port-forwarding purposes and should only be attempted by those who understand what port-forwarding is and how it works.
Why do I say this?
I say this because port-forwarding involves logging into your router and changing some minor settings
Tutorial
Step One:
The first step involves finding out your Gateway's or Router's Default IP Address. For Windows User's this very simple, First you must open the CMD Prompt. For the purpose of this tutorial I'll show you the most simple way to open it up.
Start>All Programs>Accessories>CMD (Results May Vary Depending on Windows OS)
Step Two:
Once you have opened up the CMD, You should be presented with a window like this:
Step Three:
Type 'ipconfig' except without the quotations and you will be presented with a CMD Prompt like this:
Step Four:
Scroll up and in the first area of information, look for 'Default Gateway'. This is the Information you are going to use to login to your router
Step Five:
To login into your Router use any Web Browser (Safari, Firefox, Chrome, Internet Explorer). To do this Just type the Digit's you see into your browser's URL
Step Six:
Depending on which Router You have, You will be presented with a different screen, I can only from here offer advice and tips on what to do as everyone has a different router home screen and I can not cover all of them.
Step Seven:
What you want to do is find a screen where is shows all the connected devices to your router, and for obvious reason's you will be looking for your PS3. This can be found easily if your PS3 is turned on.
Quick Note: All of your PC's and Apple Computer Will be named, All other devices such as Iphones, Ipods and Console's will only show there MAC Address.
Step Eight:
Once you have eliminated all other devices and have pin pointed your PS3, click into it and Find a way to edit or enter Port Data
Step Nine:
Here are the ports you are going to need to enter once you have found the required fields:
All games published by SCEE may use the following ports for communication with game servers:
TCP Ports: 80, 443, 5223, and 10070 - 10080
UDP Ports: 3478, 3479, 3658, and 10070
For PLAYSTATION Network:
TCP Ports: 80, 443, 5223
UDP Ports: 3478, 3479, 3658
PLAYSTATION 3 Remote Play (via the Internet):
If the router in use supports UPnP, enable the router’s UPnP function.
If the router does not support UPnP, you must set the router’s port forwarding to allow communications to the PLAYSTATION 3 system from the Internet.
The port number that is used by remote play is TCP Port: 9293
Step 10:
If you would like a specific guide for your router, please use www.Portforward.com and select your router from the List
If you have any questions or concerns, leave me a VM/PM and I'll get back to you!
Sincerely, Xion7200
