Don't put border layer on overlay or lower it's opacity it really looks bad just put the render layer above the border layaer. And for the background just use the render u have. Duplicate it a few times and fill the background with render copies then take out smudge tool and press F5 choose chalk 17 pixels or similiar play with the settings a bit and then smudge the duplicated render's layers(make sure u merge them b4 starting smudging)
