download the June 2010 Direct X SDK and add include and the lib folder to your directory

True dat, and download the latest SDk, and include them include and lib files to your project if necessary

How about not downloading and compiling the damned thing without changing anything?

You should google before you post your error here.

It's asking for d3dx9.h which is located in the current Direct SDK.

Go to your project's property , and click C++ , then general. Then in additional include directories , put your include folder from the SDK.

In linker , put your current lib folder from the SDK.

Not too hard if you googled it sir.
