Actually, there is another way to get cheats for Singleplayer...
Go to the config file and type this EXACTLY : seta thereisacow "1337"
It doesnt matter where you place it, just dont forget to make a back-up, just in case.

When you do this, it doesnt give you the ability to bring up the console, however, we can change that.
In the config file, type something like this : bind P "god"
When you press P, you will have God mode. You can use whatever bind you want, that was an example.
You can copy and paste the following into your config file if you like, and you can change the hotkeys for them, but this is the way I have them set up :

seta thereisacow "1337"
bind P "god"
bind O "player_sustainammo 1"
bind L "player_sustainammo 0"
bind I "noclip"
bind U "give ammo"

(P.S.) When you turn on God Mode, in the top left corner it will say "god mode ON" or "OFF"
