    Useful Config Commands/binds *COLLAB*

    I'll add everyones commands into this topic, I was also wondering if anyone knows a way around the blocking of commands, or a way to re-enable them config wise to console.

    seta cg_drawcrosshair "0"
    Disables the drawing of the crosshair on your screen.


    GRAPHICS/FPS

    seta r_multiGpu "1"
    This command enables you to run 2 cards in the game, enable this if you have sli or crossfirex going on

    seta r_multithreaded_device "0"
    This command enables = 1/disables = 0 Multi core proccessing for most people it will make them lag more, but for the odd few it will help their fps/stutter problems. Worth a try

    seta r_dof_enable "0"
    Disables useless bluring from far distances and when you aim down the site, slight advantage.

    seta r_specular "0"
    Disables specular lighting, useless lighting that hogs gpu usage and makes your gun and other objects shiner. This will also give you an fps increase.

    seta cg_brass "0"
    Enables/Disables the drawing of bullets coming out of your gun.

    seta cg_blood "1"
    Enables/Disables the drawing of blood.

    seta r_drawdecals "0"
    Disables detail of walls, will give you an advantage and a small fps increase. Note I dont think this command has any effect in black ops, atleast for me anyway.

    seta r_distortion "0"
    Disables distortion from flame effects and other explosions, will also give you a very small advantage and fps increase.

    seta cg_motionblur_duration "0"
    seta cg_motionblur_fadeout "0"

    Helps a little with some blur.

    seta com_maxfps "125"
    Standard default for Quake-engine based game. At 125 FPS you are able to jump just a little higher, and having this FPS will also improve reg a tad.

    seta r_aaAlpha "off"
    Disables Anti-aliasing. Highly recommended for an FPS boost. Chances are you cant even notice the difference while playing.
    seta r_aaSamples "1"
    The actual amount of AA samples. This is lowest, and I am not even positive if this needs to be changed if it is set to off.

    seta r_blur_allowed "0"
    Self-explanatory.

    seta r_fastSkin "1"
    This one is debatable if you want to disable/enable. Try it and see.

    seta r_gfxopt_water_simulation "0"
    Water related command. Water takes up useless amounts of CPU to do, so disable this for a little boost on maps with lots of water.

    seta r_glow_allowed "0"
    Hurpadurp, disables glow.

    seta r_motionblur_maxblur "0"
    seta r_motionblur_numberOfSamples "0"
    More motion blur related items, setting to 0 will disable them.

    seta r_texFilterAnisoMin "1"
    seta r_texFilterMipMode "Force Bilinear"

    Anthropic filtering related stuff, editable in game menu. Usually doesnt make a huge impact but meh.

    seta r_vsync "0"
    Disables syncing frames with the refresh rate of your monitor, highly recommended to set to 0.

    seta ui_allowFov "1"
    Not sure if this works or not, but rumor has it it is only SP related. Some more testing would confirm though. Set it to 1 wont hurt anything though.

    MOUSE

    seta cg_viewZSmoothingMax "0"
    Threshhold for the maximum smoothing distance

    seta cg_viewZSmoothingMin "0"
    Threshhold for the minimum smoothing distance it must move to smooth

    seta cg_viewZSmoothingTime "0"
    Amount of time to spread the smoothing over


    seta cl_mouseAccel "0"
    Very important. Stops the annoying acceleration on the mouse. Disabling it in Windows will help a lot too.

    seta m_filter "0"
    setting it to 1 will not ahve a huge impact on FPS, and what this does is more complicated than needs to be explained. It has to do with the mouse though.

    seta m_side "0.03"
    seta m_yaw "0.03"

    Pretty much sensitivity in terms of side to side. Increasing/decreasing these can have radical results when it comes to aiming. But only if you know how to do it, and/or prefer the change. Chances are you can leave these at default.

    NETWORK

    seta snaps "30"
    *Not sure what this does but it helps with bullet registry*

    seta cl_maxpackets "100"
    Max packets to be sent to the server. 100 is max, and best, but some people find using others like 43 or such works better. The difference is minute, if even noticeable. Keep it 100 for the sake of ease.

    seta rate "25000"
    Increases the rate of data to the server, meaning better ping, and reg.
    seta sv_maxRate "25000"
    Max rate.

    COLORS/FONTS

    Useful site for converting color codes:
    CoD colors...Call of Duty 1, 2, 4, 5 color creator

    seta lowAmmoWarningColor1 "0 1 1 0.501961"
    seta lowAmmoWarningColor2 "0 1 0 0.501961"

    Colors for the reload/low ammo and no ammo hud text.

    The color of your line in the scoreboard, useful to see where you are on the scoreboard quicker and looks pretty ^_^

    seta con_inputBoxColor "0 0 0 .5"
    seta con_inputHintBoxColor ".01 0.01 0.01 .3"

    This changes the color of the console from a solid, drab green color, to a slightly transparent black. Use the color thing that he posted to find colors you want, or if you know RGBA off your head, do that too. But remember, the last number is how transparent it is, so 1=solid and 0=see through.

    cg_scoreboardHeaderFontScale "0.315"
    Most likely the font scaling for the main lines on the scoreboard. (needs confirming)

    seta cg_overheadNamesFont "1"
    Useless, but i remember there being a few cool fonts from CoD4, so try 1-5 to see what you like.

    seta waypointIconWidth "15"
    Sets the size of waypoints in game a little smaller. Like the A, B bombsites, and flags. (needs to be confirmed)

    seta cg_scoreboardWidth "400"

    Well obviously, the height and width allowed for the TAB screen (scoreboard)

    seta cg_scoreboarditemheight "9"
    Changes the height of each line on the scoreboard.

    The text for the scoreboard. I like 5, but you need to adjust the scale of it in order to do so.

    How many lines it will scroll when scrolling down the scoreboard.

    Changes the size of the faction icons.

    Neat little thing will put the "Press f to swap for x" to just press f for *image of the gun*

    Changes the position of the text chat.The higher the first number, the further away it is from the left of the screen, and the higher the second number, the further away it is from the top.

    The position for the FPS display. Except the higher the first number, the further it is away from the right.

    seta cg_hudDamageIconWidth "80"

    Set it to these to turn the direction hit alert, into an arrow, rather than a circle. Adjust the values to get your most preferred.

    Moves the indicator a little closer.

    seta cg_hudDamageIconTime "5000"
    Frankly 5000 was a number I chose at random, and it forces it to last way too long. I will probably set it to something like 1000 to stop the arrows from hanging out on my screen for too long.

    Some people claim setting this to Shader model 2.0 or 3.0 gives them an fps boost, try it out..

    These are just personal stuff, it is the height and width of the arrows on the UAV.

    Change the size of your compass (Radar). Anything above 2 is horrible in my opinion, default value is 1.


    seta con_gameMsgWindow0LineCount "6"

    Increases the killfeeds ammount of lines, max is 9 but I think 6 is the best

    seta con_gameMsgWindow0MsgTime "10"
    Increases the killfeed staying time, This was the default value in mw2 but black ops is 5 for some reason.

    seta r_gfxopt_dynamic_foliage "0"
    Setting this command to 0 can give you a huge advantage and a small fps increase, it prevents the rendering of certain foilage at certain distances. I'm pretty sure they will patch this soon (If treyarch get of their asses which they wont..)

    seta cg_drawcrosshair "0"
    Disables the drawing of the crosshair on your screen.

    seta cl_yawspeed 750
    Makes the movement of binds that make you turn faster, useful for 360's 720's or even to abuse in the chopper gunner/gunship because of the no slowdown rate of +left or +right

    seta cg_hudGrenadeIconEnabledFlash "1"
    Enables the hud icon for flashes, very useful if you're a try hard ^_^, or just want a tactical advantage.

    Binds

    bind [ "movie_start clip.avi"
    Starts rendering a movie from theatre mode

    bind ] "movie_stop clip.avi"
    Stops rendering a movie from theatre mode

    bind 0 "toggle cg_drawfps"
    Toggles the drawing of fs 0 to 4. With variables 1 and 0 this will not work for some reason.

    bind v "+left"
    When you hold v it makes you turn left, use cl_yawspeed to increase the turn rate.

    bind b "+right"

    When you hold b it makes you turn right, use cl_yawspeed to increase the turn rate.

    Also, to stop the game from over-writing, set the file to read-only in the properties.

    I also realized you probably posted a few of these, but I just ran through my config and picked out important ones. I might get around to removing the dupes for you later. Also, I do know how to truley make the game look like shit, and have a pretty good FPS boost, but most of these run pretty quietly, and have a small impact on actual graphics, and give a decent FPS boost.

    Unfortunately I dont know how many of the true customization commands are there from CoD4, as my config had hours and hours of work in it, and it looked pretty damn badass. Things like changing colors of tab menus, bars and numerical ping readouts, custom colors for my name, etc etc. I'll have to get back in to editing configs to see if any of this works.

    Also, snaps is basically how many times player positions and such are updated with the server. Its fairly standard for servers to use 20, and I am assuming that BO's is due to it all being done by treyarch and gameservers.com. So snaps may or may not have any effect, as if the server is set to 20, it doesnt support higher meaning useless. Setting it higher wont hurt just in case, but I doubt it has any effect in this game due to nobody being able to do shit with their servers.

    Some stuff I picked up in the last 10 minutes:

    Well I got the ping bars to work in game, but right now it is stuck at 1 bar, regardless. Bots have full bars though, as they have 0 ping. I really wish they would not locked this shit in game, as it was always so much easier to try it there. But the usual modifying scoreboard stuff seems to work ok. Ima keep working on it.


    Okay so after about an hour of work i have pretty much found all I can. (typing in gloves is hard, and its way too cold to take them off)

    The first is a shot in game, and the second is the scoreboard. In the first one you can see I moved the text chat to the bottom, and the FPS display has been moved as well. I want to move the FPS display somewhere a little neater but I cbf for it now. The reload has been changed as well, and I will test later on if my changed waypoint sizes have done anything. Its not done as of now, and will probably resume tomorrow.

    Also, scoresping_interval has been set to read only, so there will be no way to use the bars as of now.

    Hrmpf... Everytime I write something in my mp_config.cfg its stays for 1 start... After the 2nd everything is as it was before...

    Make the config file read only if you are having this problem, I'm not.
