    Processor -
    Intel Core i7-975 Extreme Edition 3.33GHz LGA 1366 130W Quad-Core Processor
    Price = $1500.00

    And that's all your money

But seriously, for 1000, you have to go mainstream, not Extreme.

    CPU
    Processor Intel Core 2 Duo E8400 Wolfdale 3.0GHz 6MB L2 Cache LGA 775 65W Dual-Core Processor BX80570E8400 - About 150 or so

    Board
    GIGABYTE GA-EP45-UD3R LGA 775 Intel P45 ATX Intel Price around 199 - 250

    PSU
    Thermaltake Purepower W0100RU 500W ATX 12V 2.0 About 80-120

    Video Card
Sapphire RADEON HD 5770, (1 GB) PCI Express Video Card - About 140 or so

On Memory , saving a little money but keeping it mainstream

    PNY XLR8 4GB (2 x 2GB) 240-Pin DDR2 SDRAM 800 (PC2 6400) about 75 for 2 2GB sticks

On HD, has to be a TB or more, SATA
    Western Digital Caviar Green 1TB 3.5" SATA 3.0Gb/s that's about 79.99

    Total @ minimum , about 725.00

Get a decent case. ($70- 100) Use the extra money on super cooling or to upgrade your video card.

    Good to go.

You want that processor ? or you want it

If not i would say that you should put 4 giga ram and a Nvidia Gts 250

Core i5+4giga ram + Nvidia (i recomend gts 250 gaming edition)

    Thank me if helped.
