Understand – Evelyn

Defining perfection based on your standards
Replacing reality with your beliefs
Nothing but another object
A modern day convenience
Do as master commands
A tinge of humanity still glimmers
In between those bruises
A single tear betrays
Emotions that lie behind
Manipulated into submission
A longing for acceptance
Never answered by superiors
Misunderstood due to isolation
Intentions floating on Angelic wings
Applications are futile
Loneliness that plagues the soul
Those whom she loves
Incite the greatest pain
Vulnerability she can not hide
Exposed all the same
Insanity it seems, is seconds away
As every moment another
Breathe is lost
Another rain drop falls
Ashamed of her impurities
She longs to make them happy
Your ridicules fill the air
She isn’t as you are
Her hope is useless
As her resistance once was
She wants to be strong
To break away
To tell you she’s sorry
Yet unseen chains still hold her
His cold touch still grasps her
She clings onto that last glimpse
Her memories play right
Before her eyes
Over and over she reminisces
A perfect circle she drew
In every word an encryption
Until then, She Loves You.
