As said, that's not always the case over here. I know tons of atheists with religious parents and tons of religious kids with atheist parents?

How many is tons for you? And i don't think children change so fast of belief..

Its come to my attention that Muhammed is considered the "greatest prophet" to muslims.

Which aroused my suspicion of why?

Muhammed really didn't do anything in terms of miracles. He made other people submit to his religion after conquering him with his army(gathered through Islam), and He really didn't have any of the presence of any of the prophet before him.

So I asked mr. muslim, and he said "because the quran said so."


And then i wondered to myself, do they really think muhammed is the greatest prophet just because "the quran said so"?

I mean he wrote the quran more or less, and then it says he is the "greates prophet", do people really believe that?

The picture in the article shows the location of the “Rocky Belt” which shows the moon was once split.
The unbelievers of Makkah said to the Prophet P.B.U.H. that if you are truly a Prophet split the moon and if you do we shall believe. It was a full moon that night.

And so the Prophet P.B.U.H. prayed to Allah to grant him this miracle, and splitted the moon with his finger. Half was seen over Mount. Saffa, and the other half was seen over Mount. Kaikaan.
The people said that the Prophet P.B.U.H. has placed a spell on us, however if he played a trick on us, then he cant play a trick on all the people in the world! Abu Jahl then said: “let us wait until the people of Albadiah come, and if they saw the moon split, then it is true, if not then we all know it was a trick of magic.”
When the people of Albadiah came they said that they too saw the moon split, and the disbelievers said “oh, how powerful Mohammad’s magic is!”

Then Allah revealed Surat al Qamar: “The hour has come near and the moon has split, and when they see a sign, they turn and say ‘this is a continuous magic’ and they disbelieved and followed their desires…”
This took place in the days of the Prophet Muhammad P.B.U.H. in Makkah.

In one of Dr. Zaghlool Al-Najaar’s seminars, in one of the British universities said: “The miracle of the splitting of the moon has been proven recently”… “ One of the British brothers who is very concerned about the state of Islam “Dawood Musa” who is the new chairman of the British Muslims party who is planning to enter the coming elections under the banner of Islam, which is spreading extremely fast in the west said “While he was searching for a religion, a friend gave him a copy of the Quran translated in English. He opened it and came across Surat Al-Qamar and read “The hour has come and the moon has split”, looking at this he said ‘The moon has split?!’ He then stopped reading and did not open it again.

Then one day while watching a program on the BBC, The broadcaster was talking with three American scientists, and the broadcaster was blaming America for spending billons of dollars on space projects, in a time where millions of people are suffering from poverty.

The scientists were trying to explain why it is important to go into space exploration.

Soon the scientists came to discuss the most expensive trip to the moon, which costed about 100 billion dollars, so the broadcaster asked them “So to put the American flag on the moon you spent this much money?!”

The scientists stated that this much money was spent because they were trying to study the internal structure of the moon to see what similarities it has with the Earth, and they said that they were surprised to find a ‘Belt of Rocks’ that goes from the surface of the moon right to the inner depths.
Being quite surprised, they gave this information to their geologists, who were also surprised, as they concluded that this couldn’t be unless the moon was once split and resealed. The rocks on the belt are a result of the impact during the time that the two halves of the moon recombined.
Watching this brother Dawood Mussa jumped off his seat screaming “This is Muhammad P.B.U.H.’s miracle which occurred more than 1400 years ago, and now the Americans are spending billions of dollars to prove it to the Muslims. He then said “This must surely be a true religion, and so, where once Surat Al-Qamar was a cause for him disbelieving in Islam, it was now the reason for his embracing Islam.

And if you haven't read this (I already posted it as MJLover), here is a small sample of the signs which Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) enumerated for us 1400 years ago. They have been divided into minor and major signs:

The Minor Signs:
The disappearance of knowledge and the appearance of ignorance.
Books/writing will be widespread and (religious) knowledge will be low.
Adultery and fornication will be prevalent (The Prophet, peace be upon him, said that this has never happened without new diseases befalling the people, which their ancestors had not known.).
When fornication becomes widespread among your leaders (The Prophet, peace be upon him, said that this will happen when the people stop forbidding evil).
Adultery and fornication will be performed in the open.
The consumption of intoxicants will be widespread.
Women will outnumber men......eventually 50:1.
Killing, killing, killing.
The nations of the earth will gather against the Muslims like hungry people going to sit down to a table full of food. This will occur when the Muslims are large in number, but "like the foam of the sea".
People will beat others with whips like the tails of oxen.
The children will be filled with rage.
Children will be foul.
Women will conspire.
Rain will be acidic or burning.
Children of fornication will become widespread or prevalent.
When a trust becomes a means of making a profit.
Gains will be shared out only among the rich, with no benefit to the poor.
Paying Zakat becomes a burden and miserliness becomes widespread; charity is given reluctantly.
Miserliness will be thrown into the hearts of people.
Episodes of sudden death will become widespread.
There will be people who will be brethren in public but enemies in secret (He was asked how that would come about and replied, "Because they will have ulterior motives in their mutual dealings and at the same time will fear one another.").
When a man obeys his wife and disobeys his mother; and treats his friend kindly while shunning his father.
When voices are raised in the mosques.
People will walk in the marketplace with their thighs exposed.
Great distances will be traversed in short spans of time.
The people of Iraq will receive no food and no money due to oppression by the Romans (Europeans).
People will hop between the clouds and the earth.
A tribulation will enter everyone's home.
The leader of a people will be the worst of them.
Leaders of people will be oppressors.
People will treat a man with respect out of fear for some evil he might do.
Men will begin to wear silk.
Female singers and musical instruments will become popular.
When singers become common.
People will dance late into the night.
When the last ones of the Ummah begin to curse the first ones.
People will claim to follow the Qur'an but will reject hadith (What Prophet Muhamamd (P.B.U.H said) & sunnah (The way of His life style).
People will believe in the stars.
People will reject al-Qadr (the Divine Decree of Destiny).
Time will pass rapidly.
Good deeds will decrease.
Smog will appear over cities because of the evil that they are doing.
People will be carrying on with their trade, but their will only be a few trustworthy persons.
Wealth will increase so much so that if a man were given 10,000, he would not be content with it.
A man will pass by a grave and wish that he was in their place.
Earthquakes will increase.
There will be attempts to make the deserts green.
The appearance of false messengers.
Women will be naked in spite of being dressed, these women will be led astray & will lead others astray.
The conquest of Constantinople by the Muslims.
The conquest of India by the Muslims, just prior to the return of Jesus, son of Mary (peace be upon both of them).
When people begin to compete with others in the construction of taller buildings.
There will be a special greeting for the people of distinction.
The Euphrates will disclose a treasure (The Prophet, peace be upon him, said that whoever is present should not take anything from it).
Two large groups, adhering to the same religious teaching will fight each other with large numbers of casualties.
Wild animals will be able to talk to humans.
A man will leave his home and his thigh or hip will tell him what is happening back at his home.
Years of deceit in which the truthful person will not be believed and the liar will be believed.
Bearing false witness will become widespread.
When men lie with men and women lie with women.
Trade will become so widespread that a woman will be forced to help her husband in business.
A woman will enter the workforce out of love for this world.
Arrogance will increase in the earth.
Family ties will be cut.
There will be many women of child-bearing age who will no longer give birth.
There will be an abundance of food, much of which has no blessing in it.
People will refuse when offered food.
Men will begin to look like women and women will begin to look like men.

The Major Signs:
Although they appear here in no particular order, it is important to point out that the Prophet (peace be upon him) said that these last, major signs will follow each other like pearls falling off of a necklace...

The Anti Christ.
The Mahdi.
The appearance of Jesus Christ, the son of Mary (peace be upon him).
Ya'juj and Ma'juj (Gog and Magog).
The destruction of the Ka'bah and the recovery of its treasure.
Emergence of the Beast.
The smoke.
Three major landslides (one in the East, one in the West, and one on the Arabian peninsula).
The wind will take the souls of the believers.
The rising of the sun from the west.
The fire will drive the people to their final gathering place.
Three blasts of the trumpet (fear & terror, death, resurrection) .

Allah told him the events that will occur before end. This is Miracle !!

You really need to study Islam and the life of Holy Prophet Muhammed (P.B.U.H), before making such threads !!

So...yeah, the quran came from the bible and torah, so was told in the quran, oh was you using that as a con?

Yeah... and were also told there books are corrupted and written by man, because the bible has 40 unknown writers, and the torah is just...[no comment].

So yeah, Allah did derive the quran from the bible and the torah, if you read the quran the "freedom of choice" is given to us, and 3 choices gives us a reason to gain knowledge through the holy scriptures.

2 books = people will 50/50 gamble.
3 books = Most people will compare 1 with 2 and get the one they agree with best and has more proof, and compare "X" with 3. And choose which faith they would follow.
