That's not a belief, I don't have any attachment to the age of the earth or the theory of evolution. The evidence points to an old earth and evolution so I accept those as explanations for the information. If information comes in to the contrary and we can reproduce the data, develop a better understanding I'll easily abandon the old earth and evolution. I prefer to let my beliefs be guided by evidence, not superstition.
