I'm an atheist because of a lack of proof. Theists make a positive claim of knowledge, I evaluated the claim and the evidence used to support it and found it insufficient to justify belief.

If I say i can poop out gold without first consuming it, would you believe me? Probably not, because there is no proof. Therefore, your belief that I cannot shit gold is built upon a lack of proof.

I don't "believe" there are no Gods. I don't need to have evidence of no Gods to be an atheist, it's the default epistemological position. Prior to belief you need disbelief. Much like prior to playing soccer you needed to have not played soccer.
