i think it would be good for some people
i personally find written/picture tutorials more useful than vid tuts but im sure others would love them
OK well i was going to post this in the discussion thread but screw it. Livestream was awkward and tedious last time round when i did it as i could only do it on weekends cos of bandwidth issues. If i do youtube it will give me the flexibility of making the videos whenever then uploading them at weekend and anyone can watch them. The only downside is the live Q&A but theres always comments..."did the C4D die?" "13 people use GIMP" blah blah blah. But seriously i'd answer anything relevent. I've always got skype and msn for discussions, anyway.
Basically what i'm looking for here is ideas and topics i can cover in the videos. I want to cover a range of skill levels from basics to more advanced stuff to appeal to the widest audience. If anyone else has had similar ideas i'd be willing to either link up our channels or we can have your stuff on there too.
cheers,
kyle

I prefer written ones too but sometimes people fail to explain themselves well enough for me to follow along. Atleast when I was a noob.
Vid tuts are cool, if the person doesnt sound funny, or has like a strong accent or something.
(no offense to you if you do, but im sure you dont)
Idk, maybe remake tuts in video format? o.o

I see where everyones coming from with a written tut, and i admit they are the only ones i've ever used. Heck i'm willing to do both as long as its not for the same piece. I think written ones are better for specific tag walkthroughs and videos for general tutorials.

I have done a few tuts in the past (written ones), although maybe a tad advanced for your level but you should be OK. Just search 'Kyle' in the tutorial section or visit my DA (link in sig)
I'm open to suggestions about what to start tutting or techniques to cover. Doc, any ideas?

I'd say show them how to make good composition, much like what Ryan said. Its hard to explain placement in a written tuts other then using the rule of thirds. Also perhaps you could show how smudging works and what kind of strokes create different effects. I'd be happy to lend you some psd's if you feel it would help explaining different types of things.
