Yeah, back in my Atheist days Carlin was the man.
He makes a lot of logical points,
He was a smart guy, and a great comedian.

I also agree that there are BS religions.
Though I am Christian, I can't dispute the fact that there exists distorted sects of Christianity.

As far as why God does what he does, no matter how much we read,
the simple truth is that we will never know, at least not in this life.
All believers can do is use what we have, and speculate on what still remains a mystery.

For example, he was doing the.. common, "If God does exist.. smite me!" thing. I find that to be a bit cheap and quite tasteless to debate against something.

Saying things like that is just cursing yourself.

Say you said "if god exists, cure my...infected leg?" cursing yourself, Gods choice would most likely be your leg gets more infected to the point it gets amputated, using god as a "back up plan" is just ...Lol?
