It would work in the real world, and since you are basing this idea that it wouldn't off of little to no knowledge of the subject, I would just cut my losses.

I'm not saying its technologically impossible.

I'm saying that economically, its pointless, and that veganism as a whole is fine in practice, but its not possible to convince the majority of the population that it is bad on "moral" grounds.
