Good Gaming PC? + More

I was going to look into getting a desktop sometime and I was wondering what would be good for gaming. On my laptop, I get like 100 average fps on the widescreen resolution setting in game. I was wanting to get a desktop that could give me like 200-250 fps at least(150 when recording fraps). But also has a good processor and disk space. Any suggestions? And I live in the United States if that helps any.

Oh and max I would pay would be around $2,500 or $3,000 if it looks really good.

No Alienware posts please. I'd buy HP before that.

Case: random flashy case with fans - $150
PSU: random 700W-ish psu - $150
Mobo: ASUS' P8P67 (at least the LE) - $150
CPU: i7 2600K (get a decent LC set or good air cooling and OC it) - $330 + cooling
Alt CPU: i7 2500 / 2600 (if you're not an enthusiast)
GFX: AMD 6950 (use "6970 bios mod" or w/e it's called to unlock extra cores) - $270
RAM: 4x2GB of 1600MHz / CL7 ram shouldn't be more than around $200-ish nowadays
100GB Vertex 2 SSD - $250
2TB WD Caviar Black HDD - $170
DVD drive - $20

You should hit around 2 grand overall, I cbf to search for a good, cheap LC kit now, just get a Corsair Hydro H70 if you're lazy

+ don't blame me if I missed to price or something, I don't live in the US and neither do I really check prices regularly for everything on the market so I might be way off (especially with the Japan catastrophe). But yeah, that's my suggestion atm.

just buy a computer, make sure the motherboard is really good. then buy a processor and a graphics card at somewhere like comp usa. (you can get graphics cards at best buy also) a good processor its 3.0ghz and up, and graphics cards, just search those on youtube to find which one deh best
