XML "Hacks" will get you reset

I got an email from crytek saying my rank and everything is being reset. I was only rank 27 and have only used the XML files. I was doing some extra damage with my scar (50 damage instead of 30 or 40) and I was regenerating suit energy and everything else. I also was getting 150 xp per kill and an extra 100 xp per event.

No one ever accused me of cheating so whatever they have for anti cheat must at least be looking to see if there are XML files being loaded.

We take cheating very seriously here at Crytek. The steps we are taking to identify and remove exploits from Crysis 2 have identified your player profile as one that does not contain valid player data. As a consequence, we will be resetting your player profile. Your account will still be active and available. However, persistent cheating could lead to accounts being disabled.

We will continue to work hard to keep the integrity of Crysis 2 intact and cheat-free.

I don't think so. This kind of thing is pretty far. People arn't raging on the forums so I think this is a legit strike back at hackers. But this should have got us banned there being to easy. So there game will still fail.

Technically yes. I guess I just don't consider this hacking so much as crytek blatantly ignoring security and and sort of common sense.

I have had mixed results with that. Sometimes I get kicked sometimes I can play for 4 rounds no problem. But I think im going to play Single Player for now anyways
