There is always the fact that some people make up emails to sign up, or just dont read them. tbh I woudlnt mind one, and would read it if its interesting, but wouldnt care if they werent either, seeing as how I delete 80% of the stuff that gets in my inbox anyways.

Well we're not going to publish a Newsletter if less than 50 people read it for example. But the idea is that every registered will receive the first Newsletter in their email inbox, which will get some members active again most likely.
And for the already active members it should be a (fun to read) summary of the week/month.
