the lighting is realistic, and the pentooling fits with the c4ds, get some glasses or a dark bg

If the arm is lighter (red area), that must mean there is a light source infront or to the side of him. Since he's standing infront of a huge machine, the light must be coming from the left.
If that were the case, the ground would show signs of light aswell (yellow area).

The wall in the background (green area) goes (left to right) from a green, to a grey, to a green again and ends with a copper.

Yeah..looking at it again I see your point.
The left side lighting is a bit off, because there is nothing in the tag indicating that a lightsource is behind the render, therefore those leg things on the left side of his back should be darker.

Yeah I noticed that when I first seen the tag, but I dunno..not really a big deal imo.

I see what your saying, but you see where he has the red circle?
That should be darker, and the leg things on the right portion of his back are just fine,
because like you said there is that steaming lake thing providing sufficient light..
I don't think it would be strong enough to illuminate the portion he circled though..

There's also a large obstruction blocking a great deal of it from reaching your focal...
That sure is some crazy light..seeing as it just seems to evade the obstruction and hit your focals side perfectly.
