This is the best way to do it.

Buy a 500GB/1TB external hard drive; transfer everything, reformat, retransfer.

Have your tired using Windows Partition Manager? Control Panel, find Administrative Tools, then Computer Management, and last look for Disk Management... Select your Hard Drive volume, right click on it when it's highlighted, select shrink volume to create your new partition... Your partiton would be in MB and not GB... So 82,000 Mb is roughly 82Gb...

After you have entered the amount of space to shrink in MB, which should be 81557Mb which should give you roughly 80Gb partiton, then you click ok... It should then show you ur new 80Gb partition... After that right click on the new partition an select new simple volume... click next to it's done... then your partiton would turn from black to blue... right click on it again and mark partition active to use it...
