DDR3 RAM is prefered, and 6-8 gigs is fine. although it doesnt look like you have DDR3

Yes you should.
I remember I had only 2GB of ram and when I upgrade it to 4GB, I started to get a better experience. The game load faster, more FpS, etc.

Also be careful, you may upgrade you ram but make sure that your processor can handle it. You don't wanna end up frying your computer.
