Youll feel the burn on your lap.

You can get like a raised oven rack (assuming you won't get shocked) and put your laptop on it so the bottom doesn't get too hot. Anything similar but made of plastic (that won't melt to your laptop) would be better

excluding the use of an external fan (be it made for laptops, or just a room fan) the higher raised the rack is, the better.

also, get Google chrome. Internet Explorer is shit

Even desktop computers do that.
Just be sure to shut your laptop off every night or every now and then for a few hours.
