The closed BETA is for MOH Limited Edition owners only. The Alpha version is for anyone with an EA account. They are chosen randomly; However, a veteran status apparently heightens your chances of being selected.

She had to singup for a BF3 Newsletter. It's first thing you need to do to get alpha
