Numb a Swollen Toe?

I hit my toe yesterday and now it's swollen and I can't walk on it or let anything touch it.
How would I make it less painful to pop it?
I know this isn't a normal type of question for MPGH but I really need it and google was no help.

I already have a sterilized pin and I'm soaking it in hot water as we speak.

Is there ssomething that I can numb it with that will make it not hurt as much when I pop it?
Because it hurts to even touch it now, and I don't think I can pop it.

Call your local doctor. Maybe you broke your toe, its very possible. I broke a toe by stubbing it.

Ice is my last resort because if I press ice on it, my toe is going to hurt like a bitch.
A numbing cream of some sort is my hope..

Get it checked, we dont have degrees or can physically see your toe.
lay down with it risen above your chest level, I think that'll help, unsure as that helps best with sprained ankles.

I think the last resort if the pain is really bad. Break you finger and you'll forget about the pain in your toe.

I'm putting "Tea Tree Oil" on it and it's easing the pain.
I can walk on it easily now and I checked if I broke anything and I didn't.
But my dad told me about "Poultices" and how it draws the infection out or some shit.
I'll just keep putting this oil that kills the pain, then soak it in hot water (make it soft) and pop it with a pin (without pain).
