@Alen Beats are like the best in their price range. If you looking for better headphones then that you going into 600-700$
You don't have real 7.1 headsets, just get proper 5.1 ones. I personally completely support this guy: Head Fi über alles when it comes to headphones/headsets <-- ask there but if you're really into gaming they in fact do give a slight advantage, I personally only managed to survive with 3 such headsets: Speedlink's Medusa 5.1, Psyko 5.1 & Roccat Kave. Of the three I didn't proceed to buy the Psyko 'cause of the ridiculously high price, both the Medusa and Kave have been good companions for gaming. Personally I prefer the closed cups of the Kave + the bassy touch (audiophiles start hating now). Otherwise I just say get a decent stere low impedance headset & use that.
If you want "real" 7.1 you do, surround sound is a great advantage in competitive gaming.

My headphones are small .
@Alen
sorry to annoy you and all,
but i thought about getting the G930's for gaming, bc its completely over the ear, and i heard you can ware it for extended gaming sessions, which mine last from 2-12 hrs,
Do you reccomend anything better thats over the ear?
Right now i have the Plantronics | Gamecom® 377
Which i love, but after ~30min of waring, it kills my ears,
just can't get it in the right position for complete over the ear waring,
and my ears arnt abnormal or anything
Agreed with everything @Alen said, seriosuly like If he wasn't in this thread I would have said the same thing.
I can't say enough how much Beats, SkullCandy, Etc are overpriced mainstream shit. Yes, mainstream.
Again, Gaming Headphones != Good ones
I use an external mic and plug in these bad boys:
Sennheiser USA - Professional DJ Headphones HD 280 PRO - Noise Cancelling Closed Circumaural Headphones - Personal Audio
They're fucking amazing. The're Professional DJ headphones. You see you'll get more out of your money if you spend it on headphones, not a headset. Just buy an external mic and you'll be fine. Works for me.
Right here get the 280 Pro's for $99.99 on Amazon.
Amazon.com: Sennheiser HD-280 PRO Headphones: Electronics
Then for 9$ here's your Mic:
Newegg.com - Audio-Technica ATR-4700 Black 3.5mm Connector Omnidirectional Condenser Computer Desk Microphone
I'm not saying you have to do it my way. I'm just giving you another option. You'll pay way more for a gaming headset that match's my headphones quality.

I can wear my
Sennheiser USA - Professional DJ Headphones HD 280 PRO - Noise Cancelling Closed Circumaural Headphones - Personal Audio
for 6 hours + without any disocnfort. They're the best feeling headphones I've ever worn. Maybe it's just me, i don't know.
(only time I've had to take them off for a sec was when I started sweating lol)
@SjoerdJr So is your dick / (I had to)

You're incredibly moronic. Half this thread is us ranting on how bad Beats are and now

I personally prefer closed headphones over open ones for gaming, even though the sound is supposedly slightly less natural / accurate or w/e. Both the G35 & G930 are reasonably comfortable to wear, the most annoying thing is that the material that covers the cups is some seriously crappy stuff, I ended up sweating a lot and during a period when I kinda left my beard in a stubble-y state the cover even started to tear apart.
I would def not recommend using it for longer gaming sessions, I personally could not stand it and more often than not ended up switching to my brother's stereo Sennheisers (I believe they're the HD650s, right now I'm sticking with my dt880s).
You can always get a standalone mic...
Tried the Psyko 5.1s, the slightly better drivers & such don't justify the hella higher price tag.
