If you ran and did squats...of course your quads are going to be sore.
I have been weightlifting 4-6 days a week for almost 10 months, except for vacations, and in my experience, you only get painfully sore for the first month or so of lifting. After that, varying intensities of soreness but never as bad as right when you start.
I used to go to a place called Athletic Republic. That shit was intense. Back pedal kills your legs at 1mph at 30% incline and 5-6 minute wall sits also. Damn I sure do miss that place a lot
